With its economical growth, Viêt Nam belongs to this ‘Development’ contextual category. Since 1992, answering requests from national partners (ministries or provincial institutions), Handicap International involves as a technical advisor for the implementation of projects focusing on Prevention and Rehabilitation of disabilities due to war, accidents, congenital defects, or disabling diseases. For each project, Handicap International combines its expertise with the partners’ experience. This complementarily enables to elaborate original concepts which are in the same time adapted to the international standards and appropriate to the local context and available resources.

In the dynamic Viêtnam, these concepts are rapidly implemented by the local institutions alone, and reproduced for the long term impact on further beneficiaries. In another hand, these concepts enrich the expertise of Handicap International, and are made available for other countries.

Up to now, 20 projects have been implemented in the country.
